A combination drug called Foracort Forte inhaler is used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) over the long term. It contains formoterol, a long-acting bronchodilator that helps relax the airway muscles for easier breathing, and budesonide, a corticosteroid that lowers airway inflammation. Patients with more severe symptoms who require better daily control of their respiratory condition are offered Foracort Forte. It is not intended to provide immediate relief during unexpected asthma episodes; instead, rescue inhalers such as Asthalin should be used. As prescribed by a physician, Foracort Forte should be used on a daily basis to help avoid symptoms including coughing, wheezing, and dyspnoea. Regular use lowers the frequency of flare-ups of asthma or COPD and enhances lung function.
